Chris Sweeney is a writer and editor living in Boston. He is currently working on his first book, The Feather Detective, a narrative history of forensic ornithologist Roxie Laybourne, which will be published by Simon & Schuster's Avid Reader Press. He has written for Audubon, The Guardian, Men’s Journal, Popular Mechanics, Wired, Popular Science, and Playboy, among others, and he has held staff positions at Boston Magazine and Village Voice’s newspaper in South Florida. He has won a bunch of awards for his reporting and was once named Magazine Writer of the Year by the City and Regional Magazine Association. In addition to journalism, Sweeney has had an extensive career in global health communications, holding positions at Partners In Health, the Harvard T.H.
