Chris Sweeney is a staff writer at Boston Magazine. Previously, he was a staff writer at the New Times, a Village Voice weekly in South Florida. He’s contributed to Men's Journal, Playboy, Wired, Popular Mechanics, Yes!, and GOOD, among others. He also spent a few years working for the humanitarian organization Partners In Health, where he became interested in drug-resistant tuberculosis. In 2012, Sweeney won the Florida Press Club Best Health Reporting award for a feature on genetically modified mosquitoes and dengue fever. He has received several fellowships from the United Nations Foundation, and has taught at Tufts University and Regis College.
